The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi has crossed danger marks once again, creating a serious flood-like situation in several areas. As of today, the rising Yamuna has reached Kashmiri Gate, one of the busiest transport hubs of the national capital.
Authorities have issued a high alert for commuters and residents, as traffic disruptions and waterlogging are being reported. Many roads connecting to the ISBT Kashmiri Gate and nearby metro stations are witnessing heavy waterlogging, forcing diversions and affecting daily travel.
The Delhi government and disaster management teams are closely monitoring the situation. Rescue and relief measures are being prepared to safeguard low-lying areas. Citizens are being advised to avoid unnecessary travel near riverbanks and waterlogged zones.
This is the second time in recent months that the Yamuna has swelled to alarming levels, raising concerns about urban flooding and safety in central Delhi.
