Contaminated Water Floods Kundli Streets

Sonipat. The situation in Kundli turned critical on Friday after the water level in Drain-8 suddenly rose, causing the connected Drain-6 to overflow. As a result, dirty and contaminated water entered the streets and lanes of Kundli, creating severe inconvenience for residents. The flooding has also affected houses and nearby fields, raising fears of waterborne diseases.

Local residents have urged the municipal administration to immediately resolve the waterlogging problem. Taking the matter seriously, Kundli Municipal Council Chairperson Shimla Devi personally visited the affected areas along with officials and inspected the situation. She instructed the engineering team to ensure that water does not enter homes and directed them to take urgent steps for drainage.

Officials warned that if rainfall continues, the water level may rise further. The municipal authorities have appealed to residents to stay alert. Chairperson Shimla Devi assured the public that the administration is on full alert, continuous monitoring of both drains is being done, and extra pumping sets will be deployed if necessary.

Villagers said that if proper water drainage is not arranged soon, the situation could deteriorate further as water might enter homes. The administration has promised to provide all possible support and ensure that residents do not face unnecessary hardship.
