Sonipat Village Clash Over Plot Turns Deadly
Tension gripped Thana Kalan village in Sonipat district after a long-standing land dispute between two groups erupted into a violent clash on Wednesday evening. The confrontation involved sharp-edged weapons, sticks, and wooden rods, resulting in the death of a woman named Kamla and injuries to nearly ten others, including both men and women.
How the Clash Unfolded
According to local sources, the two parties had been at odds over a plot of land for quite some time. On Wednesday, the conflict escalated into a bloody confrontation, with both sides attacking each other using lathis and sharp weapons.
Kamla, who had reportedly come to her parental home, sustained critical injuries during the clash and later succumbed to them.
Police & Medical Response
As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police force was deployed in the village to prevent further escalation. Kamla’s body was taken into custody and sent for postmortem at the Kharkhoda Civil Hospital.
Medical officials confirmed that multiple injured individuals were brought to the hospital. While some were treated locally, those in critical condition were referred to Rohtak’s PGIMS hospital for advanced care.
